In August 1990 I came to Iceland as a head coach in a young, but very quickly developing
Gymnastics club Fimleikadeild Keflavik. There was no special gym for gymnastics and we had
to prepare and move away all apparatus every day. Conditions for high level gymnastics were
very difficult, but I found there also very special people in committee who helped me to
fulfill my goals and first of all great girls, who loved gymnastics. Four of them -
Halldóra, Ásta, Steinunn and Freyja made Gymnastic National Team of Iceland. I left
Iceland in July 1998 and this site is just small memory to the years spent there.
Update 2006 Jan 27
It has been over 7 years since I left Iceland. I am always very happy to receive email from Keflavik knowing
that the wonderful girls I was coaching long time ago still remember me. Just read the email I received today
from Ragnhildur Steinunn Jonsdottir and Berglind Skuladottir:
Dear Stano.... :)
So long since we have heard from you. Me and Berglind are at her home and we were just watching some old gymnastic
videos!! And of course we laugh a lot...
And then we started to talk about where we are today and we were certain that you taught us so much, and all that
you taught us is still with us today....so thanks for that :)
Berglind's son is now 7 years old and doing well in school, he is just like his mother :) and Berglind just started
in university, she is studying to be a nurse! Lucky me when I get old :):)
I'm graduating as a physiotherapist this year and I also work at the national TV, so lots of fun over here:)
We hope you are very very well....and please say hi to Alena and your sons from us :)
Please let us know if you will get this e-mail, because we don't know if this is the right address.
P.S we sent a photo of us :) Look how big we have gotten!!!!!!

Update 2004 April 04
While in Keflavik I was coaching also young american girl Katrina, whose parents spent
two years in US Keflavik base. Ten years later I met Katrina again, this time in Boston, USA
during Regional Championships in April 2004 (see the picture from Boston)
