| Sekerova 35th after subdivision 3 of 4 |
2005 Nov 23 |
Zuzana Sekerova started in qualification as second gymnast after Ivanova Gergana (BUL)
on floor in third of four subdivision at 4:00 PM local time. Third in her group was nobody else that Zamolodchikova Elena (RUS),
than came Severino Isabelle (FRA) and group of star gymnasts concluded 2005 Champion of USA Liukin Anastasia. On floor
Zuzana with injured leg got 8.187, in vault it was 8.887, uneven bars 8.012 and her favorite event beam (we all remember
her 6. place on beam during 2004 European Championships in Amsterdam) betrayed her. We don't know yet what happend but
the score 5.725 says it all. Her all around score of 30.811 means 35th place in intermediate results after 3 of 4 subdivion
and it means broken dream about all around final in Melbourne.
The other slovak gymnast Veronika Adamska will start her qualification on beam during
the last fourth subdivision at 7:00 PM. In her group is also Linders Loes (NED), Zanevskaja Jelena (LTU),
Tankousheva Nikolina (BUL) and Zhang Nan (CHN). Veronika will also compete third on uneven bars.

| Sekerova before qualification in Melbourne |
2005 Nov 22 |
Two times olympian Zuzana Sekerova woke-up her husband
Coach Wayne at 2:00 AM EST calling from Melbourne. Coach Wayne agreed to share the latest news from Slovak team at
38th World Championships in Melbourne:
”As best I recall...
Zu said she was feeling a lot of pressure from the the delegation to "score high" but that doesn't really motivate
her in a good way. She was just trying to stay focused on what she has control over and that's "hitting her routines as well
as possible" & is leaving the scoring to the judges.
She's having some pain in one thigh muscle & is getting extra medical care for it. Here in the states, while preparing
for this competition, she was not focusing on FX because she had been told she would not compete all-around. She had been
directed to focus on the other events instead. However, a few days before departing for Melbourne she got notified
that she would need her FX & would compete all-around. She put a lot of emphasis on FX to get it back up to speed in those
last days before flying out.
Once in Melbourne she had a week to polish up her routines but the quick push to bring FX up to speed put a bit more
extra stress on those powerful leg muscles & I guess she ended up with a pretty good strain. The injury is not debilitating
now, she just seemed to be concerned that when she cuts loose in competition, the muscle damage may become more severe.
She said the competition was very strong, with more high-caliber athletes than she'd been led to expect. She's said
she's just hoping to hold all her routines together well enough to make 24 all-around finals.
To me, she sounds confident, level-headed and prepared to engage in competition.

gymnast after Ivanova Gergana (BUL) on floor in third of four subdivision at 4:00 PM local time. Third in her group is

| Sekerova and Piasecky 3rd in Grand Prix Brno (CZE) |
2005 Sep 25 |
|
For Gymnastics-Slovakia.com from men's national team coach Martin Zvalo:
"Thirteen pairs from 6 countries (Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Switzerland)
showed their routines during qualification at Grand Prix Brno 2005 last Saturday September 23rd including Slovak duo
Zuzana Sekerova (living and training in USA) and Samuel Piasecky.
In preliminaries Sekerova competed on balance beam
and she performed very good routine on bars. Piasecky competed on floor and high bar. Our team advanced to semifinals
from the 8th place.
In semifinals both had to perform on their "strong" events - Sekerova had a great vault and Piasecky
got the highest score from all competitors during whole meet - 9.5 on bars.
Great semifinal performance secured them advance to finals with the highest score. They could competing on the
same events, but unfortunately their performance was little less faultless and Slovak duo still on great 3rd place."
